Siren |
The Siren, or what sailors often refer to as "mermaids" and "mermen" are a species of marine dwelling Undine with vast humanoid intelligence. Living in large groups with elaborate social structures, they are easily one of the most powerful races that dwell in the waters of the Sleeping Ocean. Hundreds of individual pods, or family groups, gather under the rule of a single central pod to form a unified group in which pod leaders take on positions of responsibility granted to them by the King or Prince. Considering themselves the protectors of the Sleeping Ocean and all of the life therein, most members of their race seek to maintain the secrecy of their world, which, consequently, may mean trouble for trespassers into their waters. Like their mythological counterparts, the Siren possess the gift of song, which may be used for good or bad. A few rare individuals have been known to develop the ability to walk amongst humans on land, though it is uncertain as to weather this is merely myth or a fantasy conjured by the Siren themselves. | Endurance:3
