(Panda Shrimp drawn by LunarPixie, colored & managed by YLO)
(cookies by PonyMama, breeding items by Laviee, accessoiries by Bunraku)

[Basic Info]
Welcome to the Panda Shrimps agency!
You can collect our critters through various events held on the Secundi forums.
It's also possible to find a cookie to attract a Panda Shrimp in the main site's Adventure mode.
If you do obtain such a cookie, PM this account or YLO on Discord to redeem it.

Panda Shrimps come in two genders plus a unisex baby stage.
Adult males are slightly larger than females, but females have a fluffier coat.
As babies they show no noticeable gender difference.

Markings are templated, but it is possible to get unique markings through customs.
New markings are released regularly to keep the adoptable interesting and developing.
A list of premade markings can be found here.

Panda Shrimps may be traded at any time for anything except USD.

[Breeding Info]
Panda Shrimps don't have big breeding seasons, instead one user gets a turn to breed their Panda Shrimps at a time.
You can sign up for breeding in this thread.
Once your name is on there, you'll remain on the list unless you ask to be taken off.
After breeding Panda Shrimps or deciding to skip your turn, you move to the bottom of the list.
If you find a piece of bamboo in the site's Adventure mode, you can PM this account or YLO on Discord to get an out-of-turn breeding.
All breedings, in and out of turn, can be supplemented with additional breedings items available from our Agency store.

Basic Breeding
A basic breeding with just bamboo works like this:
* The baby's gender is random
* The baby will display a blend of the parents' colors
* Premade marking showing on both parents are guaranteed to pass
* Premade markings showing on only one parent have a 50% chance of passing
Items can be used to influence things, more info in the next section.

Extra Item Info
* One piece of bamboo is required for each baby, everything else is optional.
* You can combine different item types, for example a blue fairy shrimp with orange krill.
* Fairy shrimps, skeleton shrimps, krill & annelids cannot be stacked. 0-1 of each per baby.
* Copepods and whale lice can be stacked, so you may use multiples on a single baby.
* Golden annelid gives identical twins from just one piece of bamboo, no need for a second.
* Unique markings have a 30% of passing and items do not affect those odds, they only affect premade markings.

What You Need To Know
* Male x Female pairs only.
* Panda Shrimps can breed once per turn, so you can't put the same Panda Shrimp in different pairs.
* You can breed multiple babies from one pair and/or breed several different pairs.
* One piece of bamboo required per baby, everything else optional.
* Bamboo can be purchased by sending 5K (5000) SG to this account.
* Other items can be purchased through the agency's store.
* You can get up to 5 pieces of bamboo per turn. This means 5 unique babies plus possible identical twins.
You need the golden annelid item to get a twin. Breeding less than 5 babies is also fine!
* You can only keep up to three babies yourself. Trade/gift/sell any extras before they grow
* Babies grow up after 14 days

[Background Info / Lore]
Panda Shrimps are made by a team of scientists in a lab, by combining the DNA of both species.
Basically the shop is set up like a zoo. This means it's located outside with the Panda Shrimps kept in several large enclosures.
The Panda Shrimps enclosures have both water and grass areas and also trees to climb.
You have to pay to get in, which is how they fund their research.
There is also one enclosure where actual pandas are kept as well, to provide the DNA samples to create more Panda Shrimps.
The zoo has an extra area closed off to the public that can only be accessed by staff.
It has five smaller enclosures where the scientists house breeding couples brought in by various Panda Shrimp owners (more on this further down).
The shrimps are located next to the 'zoo' in a large building where the lab is also located. This area is also off limits to visitors.

The shop has quite a few staff members. There's the scientists, who prefer to remain anonymous.
It's a group of four who met during college and have been friends ever since.
They all have an interest in science, genetics and biology with a love for animals.
Really, it was only a matter of time until one day they came up with the plan to team up and create this shop.
Of course there are also 'zoo keepers' that care for all the animals and answer questions from visitors.
All Panda Shrimps that live in the 'zoo' are for sale and can be adopted.
The shop has a receptionist of sorts at the main entrance who sells tickets to get into the 'zoo' and handles all adoptions.

Panda Shrimps aren't fertile and need the help of hormones and other chemicals to produce offspring.
This means you will need the help of the scientists to breed them.
It's possible to get additional chemicals to influence the outcome (examples: guarantee certain colors, markings or the baby's gender).
The scientists will inject the hormones to make them temporarily fertile into pieces of bamboo and feed those to the chosen parents.
Extra chemicals are injected into various small animals and also fed.
The hormones only work for a little while and they will not mate with witnesses present, so it's hard to determine when pregnancy occurs.
Because it would be too stressful for the Panda Shrimp to drag them back and forth until a successful pregnancy and birth, the couple remains at the zoo until then.

Panda Shrimps, both engineered in the lab and born through breeding, have limited markings.
Scientists need to manipulate the DNA to create markings, otherwise they could only have Panda markings.
It takes a while to find out how to get a specific marking so of course the options aren't endless.
However they are constantly working on creating new markings to keep the pets interesting!
And for the right bribe they might be willing to create special markings that are unique to your Panda Shrimp.

Panda Shrimps are about the size of a medium dog (like a Golden Retriever for example).
They mainly feed off the plants in their enclosure with the occasional small water critters that they hunt down themselves while swimming.

Your adopted Panda Shrimps can live inside or outside and can be housebroken with a bit of training.
It's best to feed them with plants and tree leaves & branches, but they will eat certain other items.
Supplementary food can be regular fruit/veggies and small critters like shrimp (gasp!) or mealworms (dead or alive).

They are also fairly intelligent and will respond to their name.
Once used their name and somewhat bonded to you, you can take them with you, no leash required, they will just stay by your side.
Stamina has to be built up though, like with any pet, you can't expect them to walk for hours right away.

The shop sells pet carriers for you to take your new Panda Shrimp home and they strongly recommend you using one at the beginning.
Panda Shrimps refuse to wear a leash or collar and aren't likely to follow after someone they just met.
Surely you don't want your new pet running off on the way home, right?
The carriers have wheels and an extendable handle so you can drag it behind you, as you're likely not strong enough to actually carry your pet.

If you are very very patient you can probably teach them tricks, but they don't like it so it's frowned upon by most.
They prefer to be somewhat lazy and cuddle and eat and sleep. However, they can be trained to behave properly.
For example you can train them not to lay on the bed or sofa if you don't want them to do so and not scratch at furniture and stuff like that.
But actual tricks is something they don't enjoy at all, probably because they are quite chubby and not all that agile!
Dangling a toy in front of them won't make them chase it or whatever.
