Chubby Dragons
Chubby Dragons weren't always chubby and flightless. At one time, they were sleek and serpent-like, with powerful wings and long fangs. Despite their appearance the Dragons were gentle, using their wings and fangs only to hunt when necessary, never to hurt a human. But the time came when humans became afraid of Dragons. They tried to destroy their kind, seeking them out in the mountains where they resided and eliminating them.
But a few Dragons survived. These chosen few flew away from their homes, over the ocean and across many leagues before they spotted -- an island. It was a large island, with mountains to the north and prairie to the south. There were clear pools of water and dark caverns to explore. The Dragons decided to settle on this beautiful island, unaware that it was already inhabited. But the inhabitants were peaceful and kind. They treated the Dragons with respect. And in return, the Dragons helped the inhabitants. Over time their wings shrank and their fangs fell away. They grew larger in size due to the abundance of food. And they started to live with the humans of the island.
Males
Males have an unlimited amount of breedings per season. Owners may advertise their males for breed for whatever fee their see fit.
Females
Females can only be bred once per season. Owners may advertise females for breed for whatever fee they see fit.
Same Sex Pairings
A male may breed to another male once per season. A female may breed to another female once per season. After a same sex pairing has occurred, neither of the pair may breed again that season. Offspring from a same sex pairing have the same probability of male/female baby as an opposite sex pairing.?
Breeding Fees and Rules
Offsprings genes will be based off of parent's displayed genes
Chubby Dragons tend to reflect their surroundings. They started to look like the other inhabitants of the island. In the same way their wings and fangs left, so can other mutations and genes display themselves. Colorful scales and odd appearances are becoming more and more common in today's Chubby Dragons world. To see examples of all mutations please click here.
So many types, so little time
?Color genes are based off of the colors that are seen in the Dragons scales. Colors have a 50% chance of being passed to offspring during breeding. The base color is the most prominent color on the Dragon. If no base color is obvious, the base color is the color of the toes.
Specific markings, like stripes or an oddly colored toe, are based off of colors displayed on a Dragon that are not part of the base color. Markings have a 25% chance of being passed to offspring. Most likely offspring will have a combination of both parent's markings.
Complex mutations affect the Dragon in every way. Complex mutations include; Aquatic, Veloceraptor, Morpho, and Spiked. Complex mutations have a 10% chance of being passed to offspring when displayed by one parent, and a 25% chance when displayed by both parents.
Simple mutations do not affect the overall appearance of the Dragon, just one aspect of it. Fangs, horns, dragon wings, fluff, and bird wings are the simple mutations. Simply mutations have a 15% chance of being passed to offspring when displayed by one parent, and a 50% chance when displayed by both parents.
Complex Mutation Genes
Complex mutations affect the Dragon in every way. Complex mutations include; Aquatic, Veloceraptor, Morpho, and Spiked. Complex mutations have a 10% chance of being passed to offspring when displayed by one parent, and a 25% chance when displayed by both parents.
